History of Granit Lampropeltis mex.mexicana alias "long term route"

Historie mých Granit L.mexicana(což je kresebná odchylka Lampropeltis mexicana mexicana),sahá do doby před deseti lety.Tehdy v roce 1998 se mezi mláďaty čisté formy Lampropeltis mexicana mexicana,kterou jsem choval vyskytla i zvířata s náznaky jakoby roztříštěné kresby.Tehdy jsem tomu nevěnoval velkou pozornost a všechna mláďata jsem prodal chovatelům v ČR.Jeden pár ode mne koupil i chovatel z Chomutova-ale o tom ještě bude řeč.
History of my Granit L.mexicana(which is pattern variation or better to say devitation of Lampropeltis mexicana mexicana) had started before ten years.In 1998 I got hatchlings from my pure form of Lampropeltis mexicana mexicana and between them I had found some with disintegrated like pattern.At that time I did not pay further attention to that and I had sold all the hatchlings to Czech breeders.One pair was bought by breeder from Chomutov,but it will be mentioned as part of story later on.
V několika dalších letech jsem zaznamenal,že jeden a týž překupník prodává na burzách mláďata mexicán,mezi nimiž byla i některá s nádhernou,jakoby roztříštěnou kresbou.Všechna tato mláďata jsem kupoval,ale o jejich původu jsem se nic nedozvěděl.V této době se ojediněle takovéto mexicany objevovali i v sousedním Německu,kde je chovatelé nyzývali High Speckled.Jednoho takového samce,roční mládě se mi podařilo získat od Thomase Bamana.Pojmenoval jsem tato odlišně zbarvená zvířata "Granit" a toto označení začali používat i chovatelé v Německu a USA,kam se několik těchto jedinců dostalo z Německa.
In following years I have noticed that one the very same retailer on different shows is selling L.m.m. hatchlings between which were some with beautiful desintegrated pattern.I was buying all these animals but I had no clue where are they coming from.At that time there were appearning a few similar L.m.m. in German from time to time and were named as High Speckled by German breeders.I was successful an managed to get one such yearling male from Thomas Baman.I have named these differently patterned animals "Granit" and this name was successfuly adapted by breeders in German and in USA where some of these were imported from German.
Ale,běda.Genetika Granitů nebyla tak jednoduchá a od rodičů Granitů se většinou narodila klasicky zbarvená mláďata.Bylo jasné,že se nejedná o klasickou recesívní mutaci a bude ještě potřeba spousta práce,než se tato kresebná odchylka dědičně upevní.Snažil jsem se o to několik let,stejně jako německý chovatel Tobias Mentel,Marc Bell a Don Shores z USA a možná i někdo další.(Mimochodem před dvěma lety prodával na burze v Hammu Marc Bell dva Granit L.mexicana za 2.500,-€/ks)
Alas.Genetics of Granit was not so simple and from Granit parents clutches hatched mostly classic pattern hatchlings.It was obvious that it was not classic recessive mutation and that there was quite long way ahead to go and a lok of work before this pattern deviation will be hereditary stable.I was working on that for several years as were working an that Germany breeder Tobias Mentel,Marc Bell and Don Shores from USA and may be even someone else yet.By the way,two years ago Marc Bell was selling two Granit L.mexicana for € 2.500,-ea in Hamm.
A nyní jedno překvapení. V roce 2007 jsem se seznámil s chovatelem z Chomutova,který od svého páru L.mex.mexicana každý rok odchoval nějakého Granita,všechna mláďata prodával překupníkovi z Brna,od kterého jsem je kupoval já.A ten jeho pár,to byla vlastně mláďata z mého chovu,která jsem mu v roce 1998 prodal!A tento rok se mi,myslím,že jako prvnímu podařilo,že v odchovu mých Lampropeltis mex.mexicana již není žádné klasicky zbarvené mládě,jen čistí a partiální(částeční) Graniti,čímž jsem tuto nádhernou a variabilní odchylku konečně geneticky ustálil.
And one surprise now.In y 2007 I met breeder from Chomutov,who got some Granit hatchling each year from his L.m.m. pair and all hatchlings were selling to that retailer from Brno from whom I was buying them.And that one his pair it were in point of fact hatchlings from me which I sold him in 1998!And this year I become first( I believe) one who got only pure or partial Granit hatchlings from entire L.m.m. clutch and by that I got this beautiful and variable devitation genetically stable.
